This is the most popular time to visit Jamaica. Dry, sunny, and breezy — near-perfect beach weather with average temperatures of 26–29°C. The downside: it's the most expensive time of year and the most crowded. Flights, hotels, and tours all cost more. Book everything well in advance, especially for December, Christmas, and Easter. If budget allows, this period delivers the most reliable weather.
Often overlooked but genuinely excellent. The start of the wet season means occasional afternoon showers but mostly sunny mornings. Prices drop 20–40% compared to peak season. Crowds thin significantly. The island is lush and green. If you're flexible on timing, May and early June offer the best combination of good weather and value. Hurricane risk is minimal this early in the season.
School holidays bring American and Canadian families, so July and August are busy and prices climb back up. Weather is hot and humid — this is Jamaica at its warmest. Hurricane season is active but Jamaica's geography means direct hits are rare. Still a perfectly good time to visit — just book early for accommodation.
The cheapest time to visit by far — rates can drop 50% compared to peak season. The trade-off is meaningful: September and October are the most active months for Atlantic hurricanes. Jamaica doesn't get hit often but the risk exists. Travel insurance is essential. If you're comfortable with the risk and price-conscious, it can work well — many experienced Jamaica visitors travel specifically in October for the deals.
November is arguably Jamaica's best-kept secret for visitors. The hurricane season is winding down, prices are still relatively low, and the weather is generally excellent. Fewer crowds than December. If your schedule allows, the last two weeks of November before the Christmas rush begins represent exceptional value with good conditions.
